One of the best new examples of this comes from the new group known as EMBLEM3 consisting of three young men who range from 16-19 years old. long before the boys gained national success thanks to the hit NBC show X FACTOR the boys in my opinion played a different kind of music that was actually exiting to listen to, not like the generic catchy tunes we here on the radio all the time that get over played. For example this is music from the group EMBLEM3 before they were famous. Enjoy!

I AM NOT INTO BOY BANDS
I just want to clarify that I am not into boy bands but good music. I am also interested in the way media wants certain artists to be portrayed. The music industry today thrives on pop culture some of the biggest artists of today's music world are bands such as One Direction, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber are all artist's whose fan base generally consists of female women (Although I do enjoy some of their songs) however for example it is when media gets a hold of a genuinely different kind of artists and then molds their image and sound to fit that of what the general target audience would like.
This mixture a reggae, rock, and soothing vocals along with unique instruments make this song fantastic and give a very different feel from what can usually be heard on the radio. Since their X FACTOR fame the boys have signed to the label Psycho which is Simon Cowl's label which has produce boy bands such as ONE DIRECTION. Now in no way am I bashing one direction or their music but it can be seen EMBLEM3 IS JUST TOO DIFFERENT from ONE DIRECTION. Yet since being signed the band has released their first single and here it is
This is nothing like the original sounds that had them compared to the likes of Sublime. The song is personally annoying although catchy is nothing like the original music they had made. Although they are now rising through the charts it is tough to blame them because they are so young and want to please the people. But just for once in the near future I want to see some one get Praised for their original music then after gaining success and notoriety are not influenced by the mass media and the giant corporation signing labels that are trying to mold them for stardom by making them sing crappy 12 year old tunes. Originality is best. not manufactured music endorsed by 30 year old white males.

Washed Up Stars Still Need The Spot Light
For those of you who do not know Hall of Fame forward and member of Michal Jordan's Chicago's Bulls team of the 1990's Dennis Rodman recently paid a visit to North Korea. Now for most this would be seen as out of the ordinary but not for Dennis whose antics on and off the cart were widely publicized throughout his career. What really got the media's attention this time is when the seven time NBA leader in rebounds had done something no U.S Diplomat could do, meet and party with North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un.
Rodman (who was starring in an HBO documentary along with members of the current Harlem Globetrotters) has been widely criticized for his meeting with Kim Jong for reasons to Dennis seem unknown. For example North Korea has recently begun nuclear testing which was prohibited by the U.S and violated UN ban on atomic activity, not to mention the very shaky relationship Jong has with the U.S. Take a listen on what NBA commissioner David Stern said in an interview just a short time ago
Now we see from ESPN to CNN and FOX News, the story has made headlines and collected mixed reviews. Some view the trip as harmless and actually praise Rodman for doing what he did. Others say the trip was ridiculous, why would an American spend time with a man who has been stated saying that "America is the sworn enemy of the Korean people". Rodman has always been funny impulsive and entertaining yet seems to know nothing other than basketball and how generate ideas to reinvent himself. So that being said was the matter publicized way out of proportion by the mass media on account of Dennis's record or is something that seriously shouldn't have done and is disrespectful to the American people. another charade or disaster in the making?

Whats Up With Ray Lewis
Athletes will or all should spend a decent amount of money to groom their image and actions carefully. As the 2012 NFL season wrapped up, one of the most talked about stories was that of retiring Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis. With all of his high points today at this point in time Ray Lewis is considered to be one of the most admired NFL players, from the covers of two separate Madden games an MVP, two super bowl rings and one of the most feared players a QB will ever see on the other side of the line, not to mention the trademark shuffle Lewis performs at every home game. These are indeed attributes one we need to be admired so much but this was not always the case. Lewis drew in plenty of negative image due to his role in a January 2000 fight that led to the deaths of two people in Atlanta. Most sports analysts and commentators agree that Lewis is a gimme for
the Hall of Fame. So with Lewis’s retirement, if this were the dark ages
before the Internet and social media the great legacy will end here. With the fairytale ending of a Super Bowl victory to close out a
spectacular NFL career, the dark spot from 13 years ago now largely
forgotten unfortunately this is the twenty first century and social media is at an all time high it creates endless conversation as to what Lewis and his reputation should really be praised or tainted.
Here we see Lewis mentioned as One of the greatest NFL players of all time as the video tends to shed more light on his successes rather than his dark past, you can also see how the mood of the video provides upbeat and light heart vibes essentially praising Lewis on a small scale, but now this video sheds a very different light on the matter one that continues to bring up his past.
obviously both videos range very far apart from each other in that they are targeting different groups of the population. but to get my point across I should let it be know that both videos have been uploaded recently this year meaning that topic is still very much on the minds of people out there. The mass media plays a big role in determining how they want a certain event object or person to be viewed check out this CNN video which clearly aims at mocking the Trial and making the people invloved sound almost ignorant.
In the end the media has many different views on the subject and how it wants people to purvey a certain individual. Despite being a 13-year old story and having gone through the judicial
process at that time, this continues to drive hatred for Lewis. now that he has retired it again open up the discussion of how his legacy should be remembered. I guess the people can be the judge of that!.
P.S I thought I was in a group C turns out I am a week late and am in group B stupid I know right.
